ACCEPTABLE FILE FORMATS

PDF-X1a—which means that it conforms to PDF version 1.3 (Acrobat 4); it has an output resolution of 2400 dpi; it is composite CMYK; it uses high-quality JPEG or lossless Zip compression; resolution for color and grayscale images is 300 dpi; resolution for monochrome images is 1200 dpi; and fonts are embedded and subsetted 100%; as well as other characteristics. This format is acceptable for full or partial pages. Trapping is the responsibility of the file provider.

MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS

4/C Process (CMYK only, no RGB files will be accepted), perfect bound. We require a 1/8 of an inch bleed. All important text/images should be within the safe zone (1/4” from the trim line). We require a minimum of 300 dpi on all image files. Files must be submitted as individual pages in separate pdf files. Any files that do not follow these guidelines will be rejected; any alterations made by DHM due to incorrect specifications will result in a charge of $125 per hour to the advertiser.
